Stand UP!

O beautiful for spacious skies,
for amber waves of grain,
for purple mountain majesties above the fruited plain!
America! America!
God shed His grace on thee,
and crown thy good with brotherhood
from sea to shining sea!

O beautiful for pilgrim feet,
whose stern, impassioned stress
a thoroughfare for freedom beat
across the wilderness!
America! America!
God mend thine ev'ry flaw,
confirm thy soul in self-control, thy liberty in law!

O beautiful for heroes proved in liberating strife,
who more than self their country loved,
and mercy more than life!
America! America!
may God thy gold refine,
till all success be nobleness,
and ev'ry gain divine!

O beautiful for patriot dream,
that sees beyond the years,
thine alabaster cities gleam,
undimmed by human tears!
America! America!
God shed His grace on thee,
and crown thy good with brotherhood
from sea to shining sea!

The attack on Chick-fil-A this month was a direct assault on Christians,
with economic punishment thrown in, including threats from
government officials that are in direct violation of the Constitution.

However, too many Christian conservatives are afraid to say what they really believe,
for fear of being persecuted by family, friends and co-workers
in this age of political correctness.

"The real corrupters of society may be
       not the corrupt
but those who have held back the leaven,
the salt that has lost its savor,
the innocent who have not even the moral courage
            to show what they think of the effrontery of impurity;
       the serious, who yet timidly succumb before some loud-voiced scoffer;
the heart, trembling all over with religious sensibilities,
that yet suffers itself, through false shame, to be beaten down
            into outward and practical acquiescence
by some rude and worldly nature."

– J H Thom

"They are slaves who fear to speak for the fallen and the weak.
They are slaves who will not choose
[to suffer] hatred, scoffing and abuse,
rather than, in silence,
shrink from the truth they needs must think.
They are slaves who dare not be in the right with two or three."
– J R Lowell

We are not here to play, to dream, to drift;
we have hard work to do & loads to lift.
Shun not the struggle,
face it.
'Tis God's gift.
Say not, 'The days are evil – who's to blame?'
and fold the hands and acquiesce –
O shame!
Stand up.
Speak out and bravely
in God's name.
It matters not how deep-entrenched the wrong,
how hard the battle goes,
the day how long.
Faint not,
fight on!
Tomorrow comes the song."
– Maltbie D Babcock

Galatians 5:1 (New Testament)
Stand fast, therefore, in the liberty wherewith Christ hath made us free,
and be not entangled again with the yoke of bondage.

II Corinthians 4:13 (New Testament)
I believed and therefore I have spoken.

Someone said recently that if you STAND UP for what you believe,
it is like the sun rising on Dracula who can't get back into
the darkness of his coffin in time.... it turns him to dust.

The Word of God is found in the Bible and is universal –  meaning
it applies to all of us on the planet, including those residing in:

as well as everyone else in the world whose country is not listed above.  :)

Scriptures quoted above are from the Amplified translation
of the Bible

God bless us, every one!

This is an email I just received from Dave & Joyce Meyer

Make your voice heard and VOTE!

 "Dear Friends,

James 1:22 says to be doers of the Word [obey the message], and not merely listeners to it, betraying yourselves [into deception by reasoning contrary to the Truth] (AMP).

Joyce and I want to encourage you to be a doer of the Word and make your voice heard by casting a ballot on Tuesday, November 6.

In truth, every Christian will vote – either by casting a ballot... or by their silence. But if it's through silence, then they withhold their moral values, and it gives greater weight to those who are in opposition.

This is an extremely important election, and your vote will literally help decide the future of America. Your vote can shape the future of your democracy... a democracy which rests in your hands.

The ability to vote is a privilege and a gift from God. Therefore, we should use this privilege wisely and seek God's will as we consider the qualifications of the candidates. And we want to help you to do this...

Right now, you can visit to access a Voter Guide, full of valuable information about the candidates. See for additional resources.

As a concerned citizen, I strongly encourage you to vote for godly men and women who will help pass laws based on godly morals and family values.

Exodus 18:21 says, Moreover, you shall choose able men from all the people – God-fearing men of truth who hate unjust gain – and place them over thousands, hundreds, fifties, and tens, to be their rulers (AMP).

Please remember: Your vote on Tuesday, November 6 is very important!

God bless you,

Dave and Joyce Meyer"

If a man happens to be 36 years old, as I happen,
and some great truth stands before the door of his life –
some great opportunity to stand up for that which is right –
he's afraid his home will be bombed or
he's afraid he will lose his job or
he's afraid that he will get shot or beat down by State Troopers;
he may go on and live until he's 80,
but he's just as dead at 36 as he would be at 80,
and the cessation of breath in his life
is merely the belated announcement of an earlier death of the spirit.
A man dies, when he refuses to stand up for that which is right;
a man dies, when he refuses to stand up for justice;
a man dies, when he refuses to stand for that which is true.

As election day approaches, it is time for Christians to make their voices heard. Millions of Americans have been praying for righteousness this election season and it is now time for them to take the next step and vote!

As John Hancock wisely admonished:

I conjure [urge] you, by all that is dear, by all that is honorable, by all that is sacred, not only that ye pray but that ye act.

As you go to the polls this Tuesday, encourage your friends and family to do the same! For a Christian, voting is not a right, it is a duty! So make sure and vote this election!

As Charles Finney declared:

[T]he time has come that Christians must vote for honest men and take consistent ground in politics or the Lord will curse them.

Voting righteously is not only important today, but was also something the Founding Fathers considered to be extremely important to the future of America.

As Samuel Adams declared:

Let each citizen remember at the moment he is offering his vote that he is . . . executing one of the most solemn trusts in human society for which he is accountable to God and his country.

As you go to the polls on Tuesday, be sure to be informed! Know where the candidates stand on the issues. is a great place for you to find church-friendly voters guides for your specific states. Feel free to share these guides with your friends, family, neighbors, and fellow church members. Also, each state has a link to the Secretary of States office where you can find information on your polling location or status.

As Noah Webster stated:

In selecting men for office, let principle be your guide. Regard not the particular sect or denomination of the candidate - look to his character. . . . When a citizen gives his suffrage to a man of known immorality he abuses his trust; he sacrifices not only his own interest, but that of his neighbor, he betrays the interest of his country.

Make a difference that will impact not only your future, but the future of your children and grandchildren for years to come. Pray, learn about your candidates' positions and then vote!

May God bless you and may God bless America!
