Just want to thank you for having such an amazing website, for all your recipes and taking the time to make the stamps.

Thank you so very much. I received the items in plenty of time. I really appreciate your help. As I think I mentioned, my sister and I have fond memories of making cookie stamp cookies after my mother started buying the stamps from someone in your family (I believe) at several craft fairs over the years during the 70's. The originals ended up in my kitchen. I happened to see them on the web a few years ago and was excited to buy them for my friend's children. My sister now has a one year old grandson and I hope that they will be able to make cookies together and continue the tradition once he gets a bit older. I know she will be glad to have these before it's too late!

Dear Kevin,

It is a good thing you emailed -- your order was about 50 orders down in the stack -- we are still pulling orders from 11/29.   :)
Robin has just made the 2 stamps we are missing to fill your order. They should come out of the kiln by Friday. We will try to ship Fri 12/11 by Priority Mail -- so you should receive them by the middle of next week (the 15th or 16th?).

We hope you enjoy your stamps!
Have a very MERRY CHRISTMAS!

Dear Mary,

We are processing your order and have all but 4 stamps.... I had your order marked RUSH NOW but could not find any email or message from you that you wanted us to RUSH it -- is there any reason you need us to ship this to you before Christmas? or do you want to wait until the order is complete, probably another couple of weeks.

If you do want a RUSH on this order, we will ship a partial Monday 12/7 (or when we hear from you), and ship the backordered stamps at the end of Dec or early January.

Please let us know ASAP.

Dear Chris,

Thank you for your email -- I am so happy you got the stamps in time for the party!!! That was our goal -- to RUSH at least some of them out to you. The rest will be coming in a couple of weeks (our list of the stamps backordered is the same as yours). I am sorry the packing list wasn't filled out correctly to show what was shipped and what was backordered.

The stamps were all paid for at the time you placed your order... that is automatically done by the website shopping cart. It only reflects S&H for one shipment... a RUSH order requires 2 shipments, so we will need to charge your same credit card for the postage for the 2nd shipment after we ship it... there will be no charge for handling.

We hope you have a very MERRY CHRISTMAS!

Hi Shelly,

Thank you for your kind note. There are still over 70 designs of cookie stamps still available to order from Peggy at www.cookiestamp.com. She can get them to you before Christmas if you need them. Also, she is looking for a ceramics company to use Robin's masters to make more of the Heirloom Design cookie stamps... so don't give up yet. Also, when Robin and I finish shipping the hundreds of orders that we have right now, we will ship to Peggy all the remaining inventory of Heirloom Design stamps. And there will be quite a few of many of the designs. So keep checking with us as to when she will put them up on the website for sale... probably in early Feb.

Best regards,

Hello,

Congratulations on your upcoming and well deserved retirement. I so love your cookie stamps and ornaments... such beauty and love in each one. I haven't received the order of stamps and ornaments from Nov 2nd yet. I did just receive my second order and just love everything. (I wanted to stock up one last time so actually have made 3 separate orders in the past few weeks...) Looking forward to hanging some ornaments and sending others as gifts.

Wishing you all the best,

Hi Donna,

Yes, they can be used for cookies if you do NOT use the stamps on any toxic clay that might leave a residue on the stamps. We recommend Creative Paperclay, which you can still order from Peggy at www.cooiestamp.com for shipment in early February (after we send the last truck to her in Michigan with the last of our inventory).

If you are concerned about toxic residue on the stamps, you can put them in a very hot overn for an hour or so to burn off anything left on the stamp.

Have fun using the stamps!

I was hoping to get my order before Christmas, if that's possible. I bought one of your stamps way back in the 80's on a vacation to Sturbridge Village, MA and use it all the time. My sister and I were just talking over Thanksgiving and she said she's never been able to find a good cookie stamp. Bing!! Christmas gift idea. I went on your website on Nov 30th to find that you were closing and placed an order. How's that for timing? I wish you both the best. Congratulations on your retirement! Enjoy that beach.

Dear Arlene,

Just want to let you know that I put the Collector's Book pages back up on the website, also the SEARCH box in the upper right corner so you can find what you are looking for.  :)

Dear Arlene,

Thank you for your kind wishes -- we are thoroughly looking forward to retiring! Right now we are swamped with orders we are trying to fill as fast as we can.

Peggy is looking for a ceramics company that will be willing to provide her with our Heirloom Collection stamps -- we are hoping! That way everyone can continue to buy them, even though Robin won't be the one makeing them.

I had to take the pages down with all the Collector's Book stamps -- because they are still linked to the shopping cart -- I will get that fixed ASAP so everyone can still see all the designs -- which I will call "
LAST RUN 2015" for now -- until Peggy can reinstate them as "Current Designs" that people can order... so we'll see how that pans out.

I will forward your email to Peggy for her info.

Warm regards and our wishes for a very Merry Christmas!

Dear Robin and Carol,

Congratulations on your retirement! I was going to invite you to rejoin the Cookie Cutter Collector's Club as business members but I guess I should contact your replacement Peggy for that but you still can join as regular members! I wanted to invite you to participate in our 2016 CCCC convention that we are holding here in Colorado either as a vendor or contributor to our raffle or goody bags. I have several of the special stamps that you made for the CCCC and the conventions over the years. The theme this year is "Reach for the Stars." I was the photographer at the Portland and California conventions where you presented one of the programs.

I love cookie stamps and did a program about them for my Rocky Mountain Cutups group here in Colorado. In telling the story of cookie stamps, I featured your story. I became a little OCD about my research into cookie stamps and ended up producing a book about all the stamps that I have in my collection as well as other collectors and stamps I found for sale online. I was looking at the website for the listing you had of all the cookie stamps that you have had over the years but couldn't seem to find it. I hope that your website will continue to have that history.

Warm Cookie Wishes,

Hi Valori,

It does look different from this morning. I pulled an all-nighter 11/30-12/1 when I changed the entire Home Page to reflect Peggy's taking over and our retiring... we only took orders until 11/30, our last day "OPEN" to take orders.

I thought I removed all the photos of Heirloom stamps (with colorful glazes) from the Home Page at that time... That's when I put up the Valentine's photo. Today I changed the date Peggy will be able to start shipping from late Jan to early Feb -- we haven't shipped her everything she needs yet -- we are still making stamps, so she won't receive the rest of our inventory and be ready to ship until late Jan or early Feb when we send the 2nd truck to her. She will then have a small inventory of our Heirloom Collection stamps that Robin has made -- the ones left over after we've shipped the last orders out in January... when we actually do CLOSE OUR DOORS for the last time and retire.

She is in the process of searching for a ceramics manufacturer that will make our Heirloom Collection stamps for her, so don't give up on them yet. We are hoping she will find someone.

I will put the search button back up on the website to make it easier for you to find what you are looking for. You should be able to look through the entire Collector's Book now... I just marked all stamps as "LAST RUN 2015."

I'll send a copy of our emails to Peggy and she can follow up with you. She is willing to ship Christmas import stamps to anyone who needs them in time for Christmas... she does have a small inventory there  already... she's just not unpacked yet.  :)

Thank you for your quick reply. I appreciate it very much. I just placed an order for two Christmas cookie stamps, and when I completed my order and clicked on the "Done" button, I was taken back to your home page which I could swear looks different from the one I saw earlier today. Earlier today there was a picture of a blue handled cookie stamp with what looked to be a snowflake design pressed into an all white sugar cookie. After completing my order a few sconds ago I was taken to the home page which now has Valentine Decorations on it and what appears to be an imprint of a strawberry in dough and the home page says that any orders placed will be delivered in February 2016.

I would like my Christmas Cookie stamps for this Christmas -- the sooner the better! If this is not possible, please cancel my order.

Kindly advise if I am to receive my cookie stamps shortly or if the order will be cancelled. Thank you very much for all of your assistance!
Merry Christmas to you, too!

Dear Valori,

Thank you for your email and your question about the quality of our stamps. We have carried the stamps made in China since 2002... we've had no complaints about their quality. They do not come in the colorful glazes Robin has put on his mandmade stamps – the glaze on the import stamps is clear, allowing the color of the terra cotta clay to show through.

Of course, we think the designs Robin has carved are more beautiful than the ones made in China, but we are a bit biased.  :)

The stamps work just fine for decorating cookies and crafts.

When I get time to fix the website in the next few days hopefully, you will be able to look at our Collector's Book and see ALL the designs that were handmade in the USA -- now retired. I just have to mark each one of the several hundred as "LAST RUN 2015" instead of "Current Design" as it says now. I will give you the link to the main page:
http://www.cookiestamp.com/for_collectors
Just be aware that anything that says "Current Design" is really NOT current and is not available for you to order.

Hope this helps.

Best regards, and a very Merry Christmas!

I have purchased stamps in the past and have been very impressed with the quality. Now the website states the stamps are imported from China. If I place an order today or tomorrow, will I receive a quality item from old stock or an inferior item produced in China? Thank you for taking the time to answer my question.

Dear Georgina,

I am sorry for any confision. When I buy from a supplier overseas, I usually check their terms and conditions to find out what the shipping charges will be for international priority mail. Robin and I think that our posting our rates and terms is sufficient notice to all of our customers, domestic and international. We are a small family-owned business and are unable to absorb the extra shipping costs to send an order overseas, nor are we able to reply with a personal email to each international customer ot tell them to please read our terms.

In spite of your disappointment, we hope you can enjoy your stamps anyway.

Be sure to check our recipe tips here:
http://www.cookiestamp.com/cookie_baking_tips

The biggest problem we've had is designs melting away in the over -- so look for tips re: that problem. More gluten helps, so some use bread dough which has more gluten, to hold the design, and you can also buy gluten and add a little to the batter for even more "hold." Hope you have good success with the baking and enjoy using the stamp!

Derik,

It has been our policy not to require a license for people making cookies for a bazaar or bake sale or for their church... it's only for those who have a business making a product they advertize and sell to the public as a retailer. So if that's the case, just let Margaret (Peggy) Luckwald know that and I'm sure she'll carry on the same tradition. God bless you in your efforts to share His love in this crazy world.

Thank you for your order! The reason the 40% discount did not appear is that the sale began at 12:01am Pacific time -- and you're 3 hours ahead of us on the east coast.  :)

Yes, I'll credit you for the 40% discount and the $3 coupon, and run the refund on the same credit card.

Best regards,

Good Morning. A friend of mine shared your post about your business and I say congratulations to you and your family on the retirement. It looks like you were in business for many many years. What a neat art you were able to do for so long. Many memories were made along your journey I'm sure. Well the reason I'm writing to you is that I saw that some of your cookies when finished were tied with a printed ribbon. I was wondering if you owed that machine or ordered the ribbon. I ahve been looking for the same type to make the ribbons. I'm wondering if you are selling it with the business and if I could get a price. Well I hope that you have a great day and have a Happy Thanksgiving. Hope to hear from you soon.

Congrats on your retirement! I have such fond memories of making Rycraft cookies with my mom over the years. My mom and I made my wedding favor cookies from a special monogram Rycraft press. And now I'm buying the 2015 ornament for her to commemorate your final year of hand-made USA production. Thanks for all of the happy memories! Best wishes to you!

2.  Yes, all Heirloom Collection Designs are available in square cookie stamps. The Import Collection stamps are NOT.

Dear Deb,

I am sorry for the confusion. I tried to put it in big letters that the sale is only 4 days (our last 4 days) fromFriday 11/27 through Monday 11/30. Can you wait a few more days to order?

Best regards,

1.  Is the 40% off available on all of the stamps? I see it in my email but it is not on the website -- so trying to figure this out. Everything I selected still says $10.95 for a square stamp.
2.  Are all available in square size?
I have about 27 I'd like to get but cannot afford them all... so... trying to figure out what I can afford and then making the difficult decision...   :-)

Thanks

Hi, Robin

Congratulations on your retirement! I had "Cookies from Home" in Corvallis many years ago and used to come out to your studio to buy more stamps. I received one of the originals as a gift (a Viking Ship) in the late 60's from the Junction City Scandinavian Festival. My Danish in-laws were very involved with the festival. And now I'm giving these to my daughters and granddaughters! I still have over 25 in my own collection and it is quite the Christmas tradition to make these for friends and famiy. I retired 14 years ago and we moved back home to Eugene. Best wishes to you and your family in your retirement. 47 years! Wow!

Robin,

Thank you for your response. I guess I didn't use the proper terminology. Maybe I should have called it a handle. The wall display shows just the clay disks, but in the picture below there is a blue handle holding the clay disk. When I order a cookie stamp am I just getting the clay disk or does it include the blue handle? I placed an order on Monday, 16 November and just wanted to make sure that I would be getting the handle. Thank you for your time.

Dear Betty,

Thank you for your email. Yes, Robin and I are retiring after 11/30/15, but Peggy Luckwald has purchased our inventory of products and will continue to sell them on www.cookiestamp.com. I apologize that I haven't had time to get all the "old" messages off the website... we have been completely bowled over by the response to our announcement... orders are pouring in... a lovely problem to have.

Anyway, I have just changed the Home Page so that it no longer asks for new ideas, since there won't be anyone to carve new designs. Peggy will still have all of the Import Collection stamps to sell, plus our other products, so please come back and do some more shopping. Sorry for the confusion.

This makes me think you are not going out of business.  Please answer the following questions.  Are you going out of business? If so how long do I have to order the stamps I still want?  Curiosity if you aren't going out of business why are you asking for new ideas.  Frankly I hope you have decided to stay in business.

Yes, absolutely you can use them for cookies. We reocmmend that you use Creative Paperclay which is non-toxic... so you can use the same stamps for cookies.

If you use clay with toxins in it, I am not sure those stamps would be safe to use for baking? Toget toxins out, you could try putting the stamps in a very hot oven to burn off anything on the surface of the stamp.

Hope this helps. Have fun!

Hi,

It has been my pleasure to use Rycraft stamps for years! The very first ones I bought were the handmade stamps that came in a calico bag. There were six and I still use them every time I make peanut butter cookies. I bought them in the late 60's when I was a young wife and mother and only in my 20's. I have collected many more that have special meaning for me, my family and friends. Especially tea cup, which reminds me of my 'tea lady' friends and the country Church, which my dear friend Julia used every Christmas until she passed away several years ago. Such wonderful memories!

Thank you so much for the joy the stamps have brought and best wishes for a wonderufl retirement!

Here is a picture of my cookie stamp collection so far. Not sure if the page I filled in went through or not. Thank you, I love my cookie stamps and can't wait to make more with mly new ones.

Donna

Tell us how you got started collecting Rycraft cookie stamps

I was looking for a cookie cutter or stamp for St. Patrick's day and I happened upon the Rycraft website and fell in love with all the wonderful Celtic designs available. I couldn't resist them.
Describe your collection (oldest design, how many you have, etc.)
The first few I bought were Celtic designs for St. Patrick's day and I was so pleased with them I couldn't help ordering a few more. I don't think I will be able to stop until I have a cookie stamp for every occasion LOL
What favorite recipes do you use with your stamps?
I have tried short bread and peanut butter cookies and am planning on working my way through the recipes on this site until I find the perfect one.
Do you have any family traditions associated with your cookie stamps?
I am planning on incorporating my stamped cookies into every family occasion.
Any additional comments?
The stamps are very artistic and well crafted. I love the variety available and look forward to using them for many years to come.

I'm looking forward to giving these to my grandmother for her birthday. She only has one wooden cookie stamp she has been using for years and has expressed an interest in having a new stamp. Although she'll be 89, she still makes cookies.

Thank you again,
Michelle

Dear Robin & Carol Rycraft,
I placed an order online for two (2) cookie stamps this past Monday and have tried to call both your toll-free and direct numbers multiple times – just continuous ringing, no voicemail. I need to receive this order no later than next week by Friday, May 8. These are a gift for my grandmother's 89th birthday. A copy of the order is attached for your reference. Are they in stock? Can I get them shipped to arrive next week?

Thank you,
Michelle A

Robin
I hope the holidays were good one. I was delighted to receive the four 4" molds you sent to me. I wanted to give them a good trial run before getting back to you. They are wonderful. I love the crispness of the designs. The way you cut the design in the clay gives a high quality design in the cookies.

I know you were having trouble getting the dough out of the mold. Everybody seems to have the same problem. Don't be afraid to whack the mold hard. I tried using your recipes thinking it might make a difference but it doesn't.

The first thing I did was oilthe mold with spray oil for cooking. It doesn't seem to matter what kind. I let it set for maximum absorption for a couple of minutes then spray again. I spread it with a tooth brush or basting brush into all crevies. I then put flour in it and brushed it all out. Then I flour it again and tap out the excess flour.

I then press the cookie dough into the mold making it level with the sides. I make sure to press it into all areas. I then push back the edges of the dough around the inside edge so there is no over lapping on the edges.

I then fold a dishtowel and put on the counter for a cushion to protect the mold and whack the side of the mold on the towel rather hard holding the left hand over the dough lightly so it will fall out in my hand. I have never had a mold break doing it this way. I only dust with flour between each cookie. I can do a whole recipe of dough without oiling again. You do need to brush out any crumbs betweenflouring.

The cookies come out beautiful. It is easier to use the molds than it is to use a cookie cutter method. I brush the top of the cookie with cinnamon to bring out the design a little more.

Thanks so much for giving me the opportunity to use these great molds. I am passing the word in the cookie cutter clubs about how wonderful they are.

Dear Chris,
Thank you for your email and your interest in our cookie stamps. We do not have any stores in Maryland, but how about Virginia? We have retailers in Alexandria, Lancaster, and Virginia Beach. Let me know if you'd like info on any of those.

Best regards,

Thank you very much! I have to say - I provide desserts for funerals at our church and have done a lot of shortbread coodkies - stamped. I must have 50 stamps - everyone always loves them. Yesterday was a funeral and I attended and everyone wanted the shortbread cookies and they went first. I love to give a stamp and recipe card to people who really love the cookies land are amazed they are stamped!

Dear Friends at Rycraft:
One of my favorite christmas traditions is baking cookies and a lot of cookies. It is one of the things I do to bless my family, neighbors and friends every year. As I still work full-time, I typically start making various favorites the Friday after Thanksgiving and keep going to about December 20th.

Everyone on my list loves getting my homemade goodies and they all keep asking about my most popular cardinal cookies (see photo attached).

I am delighted to say that everyone keeps asking how I make such perfect cardinal cookies (for most, I keep it a secret). So, I thought I should let you all know about what I am doing.

I start with the Rycraft Cookie Stamp Shortbread recipe:

1 1/2 cup butter
3/4 cup sugar
3 1/2 cup flour

Cream butter and sugar. Add flour gradually, one cup at a time. Do not overmix. Roll into 1" balls and place on ungreased cookie sheet. Stamp with warm cookie stamp and paint deisgn with egg yolk paint. Bake at 325 for 10-11 minutes. I re-apply a touch of egg yolk paint to warm cookies, where needed, when they come out of the oven. This locks in the color.

Egg Yolk Paint (mix 1 for red and 1 for green)
1 egg yolk
1/2 teaspoon water
Red and green food coloring

THANKS FOR CONTINUING TO OFFER GREAT COOKIE STAMPS. THEY REALLY WORK!!

Greetings from Minnesota!

Dear Carol and Robin,
Thank you very much for your emails - it is great to read you ship internationally! The only think I feel slightly uncomfortable about is, not knowing just how much the final postage could amount to. Do you know roughly from past experience what sort of price range the freight charges fit in - would it be, say still under $20 for the two stamps? I never know what to expect with international postage to Australia! If postage did blow out to be ridiculous, I don't know if you have different freight options, but I am very ahppy to go with something that takes longer to get here, but is a bit cheaper.
Robin, perhaps the order did not get confirmed in the end, could that be why it is not showing? I went through with my order all the way to the Paypal page, and the when realizing the problem, just logged out of PayPal and left it at that. I am pretty certain that my items were still in the cart after that.

Many thanks and Happy New Year!

Dear Angelika,
We do in fact ship to Australia and all over the world. We just don't use Paypal for international orders, but you can use your FVisa, Mastercard or Discover card online. After we ship, we calculate how much the postage was over the amount automatically charged by the shopping cart (for US shipments), and then we will charge the balance due for the postage on the same credit card. If this is satisfactory, just go ahead and place your order online using your credit card. Thank you!!

Best regards, and Happy New Year!

Hi
I do apologise, I just placed a small order with you, not realizing that you don'tship internationally. It was only when I came to the PayPal page, I read that you only sip within the US and this is not going to work! So, if you could at all make an exception, I would be delighted, otherwise just disregard this order.

Kind regards,
