Clay Casting Project
Enjoy a pleasant winter's day baking delicious holiday cookies
and creating uniquely beautiful Christmas ornaments!

Materials Needed:

1 Rycraft cookie stamp or craft stamp #223 – Basket Heart
Clay - we recommend Creative Paperclay® which is non-toxic and air dries to a paintable pure white
1 clay casting* #223 – Basket Heart (see Basic Clay Casting Instructions).
Crimper cookie cutter
Sandpaper or emery board
Acrylic primer
Acrylic paints: red, brown
4 red satin mini-bows for corners of doily
Stiffened doily (see How to Stiffen Doilies)
Hot glue and Tacky glue
Gold cord, floral wire, or fishing line

*Note:  Alternately, the casting for this project may be made from paper instead of clay (see Basic Paper Casting Instructions). The choice is yours.

1.  While clay is still wet, cut out casting using crimper cookie cutter. Let dry and sand rough edges smooth.
2.  Apply a coat of primer and let dry.
3.  Apply paint brown paint to background, and red and brown to heart as shown.
4.  Hot glue casting to center of stiffened doily.
5.  Glue mini-bows to corners of doily.
6.  Hot glue ribbon, gold cord, floral wire, or fishing line on back as a hanger.
